Meet the Principal: Ben Boesch

Welcome to Wayne Van Horn Elementary! I’m Ben Boesch, and I’m honored to serve as the principal of this incredible school. With over 15 years of experience in education, I’ve had the privilege of working in various roles, including classroom teacher, Academic Coach, Program Leader, and Assistant Principal. My passion for education stems from a deep desire to positively impact students, teachers, and the community.

Core Values:  As a principal, one of my core values is empowerment. I believe in creating systems that help students, teachers, and our community grow and succeed. I’m also a strong advocate for STEAM education and 21st-century learning, which are critical in preparing our students for life beyond the classroom.

Initiatives and Accomplishments:  This year, our focus is on the four C’s of 21st-century learning—collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and creativity. We’re implementing classroom strategies to enhance these skills while also aiming for a school-wide attendance goal of 95%.

Building a Positive School Culture:  At Van Horn, we’re committed to fostering a positive learning environment. Each classroom follows a respect agreement, and our staff has co-constructed a social contract to ensure that teamwork and collaboration guide our daily work.

Looking Ahead:  I envision Van Horn leading the way in STEAM education and creating a safe, equitable space where every student can thrive. Together, we’re building a bright future for all.
